Apply for Travel Authorisation

  • If you are a Resident of the British Virgin Islands and will be staying at an Approved Travel Accommodation, Vessel or Home Quarantine, please use this site to apply.
  • If you are requesting Home Quarantine, please ensure that you begin the application process 7 days prior to arrival, to allow time for inspection. Get started by completing the form located here, and emailing it to Environmental Health.
  • Enter your email address in the box above. A one-time password (OTP) will be sent to your email to authenticate your account.
  • Fill in your personal information requested: Name, DOB, Passport number, location, etc.
  • Answer the travel and health questions, and upload documents such as proof of vaccination and negative COVID19 test.
  • NASOPHARYNGEAL RT-PCR tests are required for all passengers 5 and over who are NOT fully vaccinated. Fully vaccinated travels are required to submit a negative PCR test OR an approved rapid antigen test within five (5) days of arrival
  • Provide your consent to a series of declarations.
  • On completion of all steps, you will be prompted to pay applicable COVID-19 entry fees calculated based on your vaccination status.
  • On successful review within 24 hours, you will receive your Travel Authorisation Certificate.
  • Please note that it is a criminal offense to load or present false documentation (such as vaccination records, or COVID-19 test certificates). If charged and found guilty, you may be subject to a penalty of ten thousand dollars ($10,000) on summary conviction
  • For self and any travellers in family:
  • Accommodation name and location
  • Accommodation booking confirmation (paid) as applicable
  • Passport information
  • Itinerary (eg airline and flight number, ferry)
  • Health information (COVID19 and infectious disease related)
  • Immigration arrival / departure Information
  • Customs declaration
  • Based on a review of your application, you may be requested to provide any missing information or additional information for the consideration of your application.
  • Use your travel authorisation to make your travel arrangements and keep a printed or electronic copy of the authorisation AND your negative PCR results with you along with your ticket and passport to check-in and board your flight.
  • Each traveller including children must have completed an application to obtain a travel certificate for presentation to airline authorities.
  • Please note that you will not be able to board the flight without your travel authorisation and PCR test results.

  • 1.How do I get back into the system to upload my PCR test AFTER completing my application?
  • We recommend that you begin your application once you have all of the information and documentation needed. If you did not upload your PCR test at the time that you completed your application, an administrator will send you an email with a link to log back into the system and upload the missing information. You must use the SAME email address that you used when you completed your registration.
  • 2.How do I get back into the system if I was locked out BEFORE completing the application?
  • If the application was not completed and no reference number obtained you will have to complete the process once again
  • 3.Why do I have to repeat the entire application process each time I am kicked out?
  • The system only saves information on completed applications. No partial or incomplete application is saved. It takes approximately 4 minutes to complete.
  • 4.Why do I have to request another OTP after I come out of the system?
  • The OTP helps with keeping the system secure.
  • 5.Why can’t I see my hotel on the list of approved hotels?
  • If you are unable to find your hotel in the dropdown list, please let us know so that we can verify with the Tourist Board.
  • 6.How do I select Government quarantined?
  • There is no option in the portal to select a government quarantine facility. Ministry of Health determines who is eligible for Government quarantine based on different factors, availability of rooms and assessing the ability of the applicant to home quarantine etc.
  • 7.How do choose a different quarantine option after my home quarantined has been denied?
  • You will receive an email saying that your Home Quarantine request has been denied. Log back into the system using the SAME email address and new OTP and complete a new application.
  • 8.How long does it take to receive my approval?
  • Between 24 - 48 hours. To make things as efficient as possible have all your necessary documents available when completing your application.
  • 9.Which test is required for my approval?
  • Nasal - RT/PCR Test.
  • 10.What insurance do I have to upload?
  • Non-Residents are required to purchase COVID-19 medical insurance. This has to be an insurance that can cover you while in the country in the event that you become sick and can cover your medical and quarantine costs. Travel insurance is an option.
